Autorent Insurance Policy

Compliant with Moroccan regulations, transparent and secure

Under Moroccan Insurance Law 17-99 and the Highway Code, every rental car must carry valid third-party liability insurance. Autorent goes beyond the legal minimum to offer comprehensive protection for every customer.

Security deposit

  • Credit card pre-authorization or cash payment
  • Amount equal to the vehicle's excess
  • Released 7-14 days after damage-free return

Validity conditions

  • Driving license valid for at least 2 years
  • Minimum age 21 (25 for Luxury category)
  • Driver declared and signing the contract
  • Compliance with Moroccan Highway Code
  • Private use only (unless Pro contract)
  • Authorized roads only (off-road requires written approval)

Absolute exclusions

Insurance does NOT apply in case of:

  • Driving under influence (alcohol, drugs, medication affecting alertness)
  • Undeclared driver
  • Speeding more than 30 km/h above the limit
  • Racing, rallying or sporting use
  • Transporting illegal or dangerous goods
  • Breach of contract (forbidden zones, unauthorized borders)

Accident procedure

Secure people first

Call 15 (SAMU) if injured, or 19 (Police) immediately.

Notify Autorent

24/7 hotline: +212 660 499 714. Within 24 hours maximum.

Joint accident report

Fill out with the other party. Detailed photos of damage. Witnesses if possible.

Police report

Mandatory for theft and significant damage. Official report required.

File the case

Report + photos + police record by email to contact@sweettourmarrakech.com within 5 business days.

Case follow-up

Confirmation within 48h. Final decision in 5 to 15 business days.

Theft and attempted theft

In case of theft, a complaint to Moroccan police is mandatory within 24 hours. Original keys and documents must be returned. Without an official complaint, the customer is liable for the full vehicle value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the excess negotiable?

No, but it can be reduced to 0 MAD with Premium insurance.

Does it cover unpaved roads?

Only with prior written approval and an SUV or 4×4 vehicle.

Does my personal insurance cover me?

Check with your insurer. Our insurance remains primary in Morocco.

Additional driver?

50 MAD/day, free with Premium. License and declaration mandatory.

Driving across borders?

Morocco only by default. Mauritania or Algeria on request, extra charges apply.

What if I lose the keys?

Replacement fee between 1,500 and 3,500 MAD depending on vehicle. Not covered by insurance.
